I am a Kenya resident and I was diagnosed with Cushing disease after I went through the process my mri shown that I had a pituitary tumor. Doctors in my country are not so much into my treatment that why upto now it’s almost an year and no progress to my condition. The worse thing is what i am going through right now and what the disease is doing to me. I have gained weight,I have a Buffalo hump, moonly face, irregular menses, stretch marks on my body blood pressure and too many complications.I lost all my friends because they think am suffering from a deadly disease. I don’t know what to do with my life right now… How do I cope with the signs and symptoms because I think the hope to my treatment is and will be a long journey.i feel so lonely
**We apologize for the extremely tardy upload of your post. Please see Forum Slow Down topic for more information.**
I’m so sorry your post did not go up for such a long time. I hope since you posted originally that you have received additional testing and treatment for your condition.
What did your diagnosing doctors say was the next step after giving you the diagnosis? There are a few universally accepted steps to diagnosis and treatment, and surgery should come next unless there are reasons why it cannot be done.
I’d invite you to read some of our past issues of our newsletter – accessible on the front page of the website. There are many coping, quality of life, and mental health articles and resources in them. It is very tough to go through this journey, but especially under the circumstances you described. It never makes sense to hear that friends have abandoned someone, but I had it happen to me too and it hurts. I can only imagine how it felt to have it happen and have them say such a negative thing about it.
