Hi everyone, I figure it is long overdue to address the slow down of the forum on our website. We think that a moderated space where patients can communicate with each other and ask questions is extremely valuable, but it is also time consuming. We have a very small, all-volunteer staff right now and the to-do list doesn’t ever end.
Due to the instant gratification of easier social media platforms like Facebook, a comparison between the volume here and there, and the size of the workload our generous volunteers already work on, our Board has discussed likely ending the forum. It has been removed from the front page of the website but there are still some “back channels” allowing for posting. After putting up this message, I will get all the backlogged posts up and follow up on any responses for the next week or so, but please not that after May 1 we will likely not be updating the forum again. At some point before the end of the year it will be removed from the website.
If you have strong feelings about this, please let me know – [email protected]srf.net or reply to this post. We’re not big fans of removing resources, but in this case we will be better stewards to direct human resources to other projects. We hope you understand.
