Stacy H., Pituitary Surgery

Hi my name is Stacy. If I could sum up my journey in two words I would say it was the PERFECT STORM… yes; it wreaked havoc on my body and was debilitating at times but it taught me patience, the benefits of persistence, the power of knowledge and the power of God.Continue Reading

Brandy B., Adrenal Tumor and Surgery

It was spring of 2011 when I started to notice a change in myself. Clothes were fitting tighter and my appetite was out of control. I’ve always been a thin gal, weighing 125lbs. I was 39, so I thought, “guess this is part of growing old”. It wasn’t until the following year (2012) that everything seemed to hit me. I felt like I woke up one morning 50 pounds heavier, looked in the mirror and didn’t recognize myself. Continue Reading

Anne C., Transsphenoidal Pituitary Surgery

My name is Annie, and I live in Canberra, Australia. I am married with three adult sons; taught high school and college science, math, health, outdoor education, and social sciences; and then moved into the Australian Public Service. Sydney K., Transsphenoidal Pituitary Surgery

I was diagnosed at the end of September, 2013. My tumor (pituitary) was removed on October 7th. I was only 18 years old, but my doctors tell me that I’ve had this for a while. My tumor was about the size of a large marble, and it was aggressive (Crookes cell adenoma). I have to have extra MRIs done about every three months. It all started around 9th grade. I started gaining a ton of weight for no apparent reason. Continue Reading

Maria P., Adrenalectomy

Hello, My name is Maria, I am 32 years old and am from Bogota, Colombia, yep! The land of good coffee! I don’t even know where to start because I am not quite sure when it started. I was a ballerina and almost became a model; yeah, one of those appearance freaks! Then I started to gain weight like it was going out of style. I had no clue as to why; I was not eating more and I was not exercising less.Continue Reading
