In 1986, I had to have my pituitary gland completely removed. My MRI showed a “tumor”, but during surgery, they found a vacuum pocket, so the whole gland needed to come out. Presently, my physical state is “OK to good”. I have good days and lots of bad days with arthritis. Before surgery, I was mentally stronger and since surgery stress is less tolerable. I cry a lot easier than ever in my life. I have had a hard time losing my abundance of extra weight. I had surgery at 29, osteoporosis at 34, and a hysterectomy at 36. I was told at the time of pituitary surgery that the Premarin I take would help prevent osteoporosis. In my case that didn’t work. I am easily stressed and depressed and would like to find others in my shoes to correspond with, particularly those close to where I live.
