Kathy R., Transsphenoidal Pituitary Surgery

I had transsphenoidal surgery in 1994 to remove a 5mm pituitary tumor. So far, the results have been very successful. I had surgery on a Friday, was out of the hospital on Sunday, and back to work in 2.5 months. After the surgery, I had headaches for quite some time. I saw an osteopath who performed cranial osteopathic manipulation, which was very, very helpful. I also consulted a herbalist who used kinesiology to determine which herbs I could benefit from. The herbalist put me on a variety of things that I believe helped jump start my adrenals and increase my stamina and resistance. Also, during my experience with Cushing’s, I found it very useful to have my husband accompany me to doctors’ visits. I believe that his presence helped to validate my symptoms, and both of us together appeared more credible than I would have alone. I think this is particularly important when seeing a new doctor who has no idea how you looked before. Please let me know if there is something I can do to help anyone.
