Question: Does one’s hair always return to normal? If so, how long will it take before I don’t have to wear a wig?
Answer: With successful treatment of Cushing’s, hair growth usually returns, but, unfortunately, not always to normal in some patients. There is no way to predict if hair will return to the pre-Cushing’s state. The hair growth cycle is quite long (at least 6 months), so the changes are very gradual. Some of my patients have tried Rogaine, which may help. Some of my patients have experienced a change in hair – curly after recovery. Patience is needed regarding hair re-growth.
