Once a year, the CSRF makes a plea for your finanacial support. Again, we would like to point out a few items:
- The CSRF is a 100% volunteer organization, thus has minimal administration costs.
- 100% of your of your donation goes to programs such as newsletters, maintenance and improvement of our website and exhibition at select conferences to gather the latest medical information and educate attending medical professionals.
- The CSRF does work diligently to file for grants to cover our expenses. However, some programs cannot be covered by grants, thus requires use of our own funding.
During 2015, the CSRF generated two new patient education brochures; Understanding Cushing’s (available in the Awareness section of our website) and Recovery from Cushing’s (article in this newsletter and in the Post Surgery section of our website). During 2016, we hope to add brochures explaining 1)why replacement medications are needed post successful surgery 2) instructions on managing replacement doses during illness and adrenal insufficiency 3) Quality of Life post Cushing’s. It is our goal, funds permitting to make all of this information, including diagnostic testing, available to medical professionals in multiple copies. In this way, the CSRF hopes that patients will receive valuable printed information directly from their physicians. The CSRF will be placing all of this information in one section of our website so all medical professionals can easily access them. We hope that these materials will be included in a CME session at Endo 2016, assuming funding for the session becomes a reality.
A campaign for public awareness mentioned as a “hope to” in last December’s newsletter, did not come to fruition. That said, the CSRF has not given up and hopes to make additional efforts during 2016. Also, the CSRF is dedicated to continuing to do what we need to do to make a non-endocrinologist CME program a reality. We hope to make progress on this during 2016. (see Summer, 2015 newsletter or News and Events on our website).
Again, the CSRF would greatly appreciate your support! We also work diligently to ensure that your dollars are well spent.
