Question: What is the incidence rate for Cushing’s, what does this mean, and is each case reported?

Answer: The incidence of Cushing’s syndrome (i.e. the number of new cases per unit of population per year) is a gross calculation. The current estimate of 5 new cases per million of population per year was obtained using the number of Cushing’s patients treated at five or so of the larger medical centers and the United States population. Currently, there is no Cushing’s syndrome registry in the country.
