Cardiovascular Complications of Cushing’s Syndrome

Cushing’s syndrome is characterized by chronic overproduction of cortisol by the adrenal glands. The most frequent cause of Cushing’s syndrome is a benign pituitary tumor (adenoma) that produces adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), which, in turn, stimulates the adrenal glands.
